Privacy & Confidentiality Overview: Child-Friendly

Your Privacy at Real Calm

We want you to feel safe when you come to Real Calm. You can talk to us about your thoughts and feelings and the things you do, and we will keep your information private.

What Stays Private

Most of what you tell your psychologist stays between you and them. This includes:

  • your feelings

  • things that happened

  • what you find hard

  • what helps you

We keep these things safe so you can talk freely.

When We Share Information

We only talk to someone else when:

  • you ask us to, or

  • you say it’s okay, or

  • it helps support your care (for example, talking to your parent, doctor or teacher with your permission)

We always explain what we want to share and why. You can change your mind at any time.

Times We MUST Tell Someone

Sometimes we have to share information to keep you or someone else safe. This happens only when:

  • you might be hurt

  • someone else might be hurt

  • a child is not safe

  • we are required by law (like a court asking for information)

We will talk to you about what is happening whenever it is safe to do so.

Supervision

Psychologists get support from other psychologists to make sure they’re doing their best work. Your name and private details are not shared.

Telehealth

If we meet online:

  • we check you’re in a safe, private spot

  • you can have camera on or off

  • you can use fidgets, move around or ask for breaks

Digital Tools & AI

Sometimes we use safe computer tools to help write letters or keep notes. We do not use your name or private details unless we have your permission.

How Your Information Is Kept Safe

Your information is stored in secure systems that only Real Calm staff can access.

Your Rights

You can:

  • ask questions

  • tell us if something doesn’t feel okay

  • ask to see your information

  • ask us to fix something that’s wrong

We want you to feel safe, respected and supported. You belong here.
