Your privacy at Real Calm
This page explains how we keep your information safe and private.
Most things you say stay private
Your psychologist keeps your information safe. They do not share it unless there is a good reason. Private information includes:
- What you say in sessions
- How you are feeling
- Your personal story
- Your goals and needs
When we share information
We only talk to someone else when:
- You give consent (say yes)
- You ask us to
- It helps with your care (for example, telling your GP what supports you)
- We are required by law
We explain what we want to share, why we want to share it, and who we share it with. You can change your mind at any time.
When we must share information
Sometimes we must share information to keep people safe. This happens when:
- You are in danger
- Someone else is in danger
- A child is being harmed
- A court or law requires it
- We must report certain things to child protection services or other agencies
If we can, we will tell you what is happening.
Supervision
Psychologists talk to other psychologists (supervisors) to make sure they are doing good, safe work. Your name and private details are not shared.
Telehealth
If we meet online:
- We check where you are
- We check you have privacy
- You can use fidgets, move around or ask for breaks
Digital tools & AI
Sometimes we use safe computer tools to help with things like:
- Writing letters
- Taking notes
- Making resources
We do not upload your full file. We avoid using information that could identify you. You can ask us not to use AI for your care.
How your information is kept safe
Your information is stored in secure systems that only Real Calm staff can access.
Your rights
You can:
- Ask questions
- Ask to see your information
- Ask us to correct information
- Withdraw consent
- Raise concerns
We want you to feel safe, respected and supported. You belong here.
